SBEE CABLES (INDIA) LIMITED is a professionally managed company having its manufacturing facilities as well as administrative office in Bangalore, INDIA.   The company is engaged in manufacture of range of LT wires & cables.  It has been certified with ISO 9001-2000  by M/s.BVQI.

The company was incorporated in 1979 as M/s. Mahadev Vidyut Udyog Pvt. Ltd., and was engaged in manufacture of components for lighting industry between 1979 / 1995. 

It changed over to manufacture of  LT wires & cables during 1995.  Since then, it has specialized  in manufacture of house wires and flexibles, winding wires and cables for submersible pump, power, control, instrumentation and ABC cables. The company’s name was rechristened as  `SBEE Cables (India) Limited  on 1st April, 2004. The company is manufacturing and marketing its products under the  brand `SBEE’.

RAW MATERIALS

Raw materials namely copper, aluminum, PVC, XLPE, PE and armouring steel are procured directly from prime producers to related Indian Standards’ (IS) specifications only. By this process, company ensures quality of the end product.  Company ensures that above raw materials are procured only from ISO certified companies.

MANUFACTURING

Company embarked upon total modernization of its manufacturing facilities during 2005 and has followed a route of high speed automation process . In pursuit of same, company has   installed :

• PLC controlled high speed Rod Break Down drawing line with online annealer

• PLC controlled high speed intermediate wire drawing machine with online annealer.

• PLC controlled high speed fine wire drawing machines with online annealer.

The PLC controlled process in above machines ensures consistency in diameter and online annealing ensures uniform annealing.  These processes helps in maintaining overall quality in end product.

• High speed extruders of different sizes with self centering heads (this ensures uniformity in wall thickness of insulation all around conductor).  Extruders have laser controls to ensure consistency in OD.
• High speed braiding, bunching, laying and armouring machines have been installed to offer product of the highest standards

With these equipments, company is in a position to deliver finished wires & cables of highest quality to different IS standards within shortest possible time. 

MANUFACTURING CAPACITY

Based on our present installed machinery and other facilities, we are able to draw about 300 MT of copper and 300 MT aluminiium per month.  With these inputs as conductor, we can manufacture following finished cables of assorted size per month:

• Armoured cables  - approx. 700 KMs
• Control cable - approx. 900 KMs
• Building wires - approx. 9000 KMs

QUALITY

Stringent quality controls on the incoming raw materials and quality assurance tests and procedures at every stage of manufacturing process and at despatch stage ensure that the outgoing wires & cables  conform strictly to given IS standards and customers specifications and expectations.

In house modern laboratory is well equipped to carry out various tests on all types of         LT wires and cables as specified under various IS specifications to which these wires & cables are being manufactured.  This in-house lab has all required instruments to carry out tests specified for FRLS under various IS specifications.

The company’s products have been satisfactorily tested in various 3rd party independent test houses such as CPRI, Bangalore, Field Testing Station, Bangalore, Central Electrical Testing Laboratory,  Tiruvallur Dist., Tamil Nadu and Electrical Research & Development Association (ERDA), Baroda.  Results of such testing houses conform to standards laid down under various IS specifications.

Company is offering cables and wires as per UL AWM Style no 1007,1015.1569,1032,2464,2129.

EXPORTS

SBEE cables have also been exported to various countries as original accessories along with DG Sets, Turbines and other equipments.

SBEE wires & cables are approved by various consultants, government and quasi-government departments, government and private organisations, defence, ISRO, railways,  national highway authorities, electrical utilities, OEM’s, etc. etc. Some of them are :

FUTURE PLANS

The company is embarking on large expansion and has already acquired about 20 acres of land in an industrial area  in outskirts of Bangalore, India.  The plans are to expand the range of cables with higher voltage ratings and other special cables.

THE ROAD AHEAD

• Setting up a new unit in Harohalli Phase II on approx. 20 acres of land
• Installing 132 KV HT XLPE Manufacturing line from MALLIFER - Finland, formerly Nokia Mallifer
• Installing 91 Bobbin Tandem stranding line from QUIENS
• Installing high speed Aluminium and Copper Multidraw lines from NIEHOFF
